1. Aquariums My dad grew up keeping fish and he passed the hobby onto me. We've had up to 5 tanks of various sizes in the house at one time. Kept everything from cichlids that bred like bunnies to turtles. All in SEPERATE tanks. Still made a lot of mistakes and had lots of disasters because there was no internet to find answers and the fish stores were far away from Moorpark. My dad had a friend who was a fish importer so he got hooked up all the time with cool fish. I never had a saltwater tank though. Started doing a planted tank with the little 12 gallon Eclipse in my apartment in LA.
2. Fast import cars It all started with my first car, a 1979 RX-7 donated to me by my uncle. My friend, Erwin has an older brother who was into imports and we would read the magazines at his house. The import car craze was at the peak in the '90's when I started to drive. My dad grew up in the muscle car era and remembers fixing up his 'Cuda when he was my age so he supported my hobby. Hondas were the shizzy and most of us ended up with Hondas in college (except for Fields who had an Escort haha) and threw on every bolt-on part you can imagine. Now that we all have real incomes and bought real cars, we don't modify them much anymore.
3. Legal stuff Not by choice. Didn't know what to do with myself after college so I went to law school. Biggest mistake of my life. Going to college and getting a degree in something you don't really care about is not the way to success in life. I blame my parents and guidance counselors for not broadening my career horizons. Apparently, there are lots of high paying jobs out there for people who don't have a brain.
4. Togepi That's Rebecca's fault. I think it's actually Irene's fault.
5. Transformers Grew up watching Transformers religiously. I LOVED the cartoons and LOVED the toys. Easily my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. |

| Tank update |
[Aug. 21st, 2008|11:37 am] |
Just a couple of new pics. Yanked out all of the anacharis (weed) and got $6 from the fish store for it. Added a school of rummy nose tetras. They are super cool to watch as the school around. Randomly lost a fat and healthy looking cardinal tetra yesterday though =(

| Fish tank update |
[Apr. 18th, 2008|01:40 pm] |
It's been a while, but here's what my tank looks like now. No LJ cut as I rarely post and this will still be shorter than most entries.
The jar is to catch snails.

Lost most of these guys about a week after these pics were taken due to a bacterial infection brought in by a new fish. My fault for not quarantining. |

| Update on fish tank |
[Dec. 18th, 2007|12:29 pm] |
I've gone through about 2 skoals of cardinal tetras. First was a bad batch from the fish store. Half of second group died after a water change. The tap water was too alkaline causing a sudden ph dive. The ph dive cost me a siamese algae eater and 3 porkchop rasboras too. The rasboras are hardy so when a few of them dropped, I knew something was off. Good thing about buying fish from Petsmart is that they have a 14 day guarantee so they refunded my money eventhough it was the city's fault.
The plants are coming along except for the swords which are sprouting new leaves, but they turn thin and develop holes. Lacking some type of nutrient, but not sure what yet.
Picture below is of half of the tank when the cardinals all schooled together. Mid-water fish are the bosemani rainbows that have eaten all of the cherry shrimp. Top of the tank are the rasboras. I've added a couple more rasboras and cardinals since and I'm now fully stocked. That giant plant in the back is wisteria. The stuff on the left is anacharis and grows like a weed. The small fuzzy little green orb thing in the front is a japanese moss ball.

75 gallon fresh water - fully planted, but not yet fully stocked. No, I will not LJ cut because I rarely post anything so you are all going to have to look at these two pictures. I have spared everyone by not posting all the pics so I've linked to the album if you want to see more.

| Quit my job |
[Sep. 8th, 2006|02:03 pm] |
I gave my official notice on Tuesday although I had told my boss last week and she was expecting that I would be leaving soon because I wasn't getting paid enough. I'm going to go work at CarsDirect.com as a Vehicle Specialist so if anyone is looking to buy a new car, let me know.
I wasn't happy with my pay at Fox and didn't see myself being a paralegal for the rest of my life. It's just not that interesting. I did have a freak out moment last night though afer realizing how much money I'd be giving up since Fox gave me a nice counter offer. In the long run, it still wasn't enough to buy me off and I hope to make more at CarsDirect anyways. I need to take the opportunity to do what I enjoy. |

This week's issue of The Hollywood Reporter reports that E3 will shrink drastically and take place in July as opposed to May. Sony led the push and all the other major companies agreed. I guess it just got way too hectic. |

| TV for sale (editted for pic) |
[Jul. 11th, 2006|12:29 pm] |
Just throwing this out there. I'm trying to get rid of my five year old 24" Sony Trintron WEGA flat screen CRT (tube) tv. It's in excellent working condition. It's perfect for video games or as a secondary tv. I would like to get $100 for it from anyone on here or if anyone who knows of someone who would want it. If there are no takers, it's going on Craigslist for $175. A similar model goes for around $400 new and I see used ones go for $200. Only downside is that you have to come over to pick it up yourself.

Good movie! I might be a little bit biased though since I like Anne Hathaway. It had several cheesy moments, but there are several interesting characters that really keep the movie going. Look for a great performance by Stanley Tucci. |
